Stephen Rice: Grew up in Shelburne Falls, Mass., graduating from Mohawk
Trail Regional High School in 1983.
Bachelor of Music degree summa cum laude from University of Massachusetts
at Amherst in 1987.
Master of Music degree from UMass in 2007.
Married to Jennifer (Harris) Rice in 1989.
Two daughters - Kayla (19), sophomore at Syracuse University and Molly
(16), sophomore at Brattleboro Union High School.
Member of First Congregational Church since 1998. Choir member, deacon
and music committee.
Has served as director of bands at Brattleboro Union High School since
1987 and as music department head since 2004. Led band in performance at
Inaugural Parade for President Barack Obama in 2009.
Professional percussionist, performing regionally in jazz and classical
music ensembles including Massachusetts Wind Orchestra, Opera North,
Vermont Jazz Center Big Band and Windham Orchestra.
